Rehabilitation of prison inmates
According to the Report of the Reentry Policy Council: Charting the Safe and Successful Return of Prisoners to the Community, two million Americans are serving time in prison. About two out of every three people released from prison are re-arrested within three years of their release. This recidivism rate has not improved over the past 30 years. The Foundation’s rehabilitation program has been utilized in dozens of prisons throughout the US and worldwide during the past 30 years. The Foundation is now funding projects with the Oregon Department of Corrections and the Ohio Department of Corrections.
Research: Reduced stress, anxiety, and depression; reduced rule infractions; reduced recidivism rates.
Awaiting funding: Thousands of inmates in prisons nationwide.
